The Beginning and So Forth

I began shooting photography back in January of 2006 when I had purchased my first DSLR: a Nikon D50. I first began documenting local music shows with it in February of the same year, capturing shots of Jon Rae & The River and Lullabye Arkestra. After a while, I was asked to join the team of BlogTO.com to support their Music section with photos and written material. By August of 2008, I retired my Nikon D50 for a Nikon D300.

When my time at BlogTO had ended, I began shooting photos for random media outlets, travelling to places as close 'n far as Brantford, Montreal, New York and Iceland.

The Blog Idea

Over the past couple of years, I have been linking my photos off my Flickr account. Although I've decided to keep my photos on there, I wanted a real website/blog to professionally document my work. Also, the lot of my other friends who cover the music scene all have blogs. So, why not join the crowd?

ManOWar??

Sigh. Yeah. It's the first thing that came to mind.

Before I go on, it has NOTHING to do with the band Manowar, although I'm sure Chris Stringer would have LOVED a shirtless, long-haired version of this site to headbang to.

Ever since I got into music, I've always been a die-hard Radiohead fan. After seeing them for the first time in August of 1997 at Arrow Hall, I fell for the band and their sound. 'OK Computer' is still my favourite record. Anywho, when I wanted to come up with a name for this blog, I thought, "what's my favourite Radiohead song?" The band wrote a song called 'Big Boots (Man-O-War), which was supposed to be on either 'The Bends' or 'Ok Computer', but neither track made the final cuts. It was supposed to be the main theme for 'The Avengers' film, but even that didn't happen. Regardless, it's still my favourite Radiohead song. So, there it is.
