Peterborugh’s The Burning Hell were part of NO SHAME last night at Sneaky Dee’s. Having never heard of this band before, I was told that they sounded like The Hidden Cameras…but more Country-esque. An odd, but wonderful thing I enjoyed about the band’s set was the time it took for them to set up. I think it might have been the shortest setup time for an 8-piece band in the history of time.
As for their performance, it was enjoyable and worth every fist to the sky. The band, at times, reminded me more of the first Jon-Rae & the River show I saw years ago at The Boat. What I loved about both performances was the emotion channeled through every song. Before the show, I had listened to The Burning Hell via their Myspace and wasn’t all that enthused. However, after seeing them, I was instantly changed into a believer.
Expect a lot of hollerin’ and cheers! EXPECT IT WITH A BEER-IN-HAND!
