Brought to us by Pop Montreal, the more-meldromatic trio of Montreal, The Witches played alongside CLUES.
The Witches played a semi-mellow set. Some fast tunes, other slow. Reminded me of The Diableros, but less intense. I looked forward to hearing “Hater”, and it was played.
CLUES are definitely a step in a right direction. All members switched instruments through out the set, playing different roles for different songs. Brendan Reed even sung one of his own songs from his solo project, which sounded amazing. While I heard not-so-good things about CLUES during their first Toronto performance, I went into this show with my expectations not so high. They were excellent and definitely deserve a listen. The band has a record out!
